Under the watchful guidance of our onsite Medical Director and Director of Nursing, our nurses follow an individual care plan created for each patient. Restorative Nursing

The Poway Healthcare Center nursing team is very experienced in providing restorative care to improve the quality of life for our long-term care population. The therapy team and nursing staff develop individualized treatment plans for resident care in the areas of:

• Activities of daily living
• Ambulation
• Bowel and bladder training
• Contracture management
• Positioning and alignment
• Range of motion
• Rehabilitative and social dining
• Skin integrity and wound management
• Strengthening and restraint reduction
• Weekly and monthly height and weight monitoring

Dementia Care

Another specialty for our nursing staff is caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Nurses work with each resident’s family to create a comfortable environment including simple routines and visual cues as a positive substitute for diminishing mental processes.

Diabetes Management

Our experienced nurses provide help with all aspects of managing diabetes including:

• Blood glucose monitoring
• Exercise planning
• Insulin administration and tracking
